A Travel Journal, SUVpacking America

On the road. Discovering who This New Man is.

Gypsy Me

Works especially well as a definition if you are a wandering spirit like me. Here is what the free Online Dictionary says is the last of four descriptions of those who love living on the move. A gypsy is:

4. A person who moves from place to place as required for employment, especially:
a. A part-time or temporary member of a college faculty.
b. A member of the chorus line in a theater production.

Learning and acting! I like these assumptions better than the stereotypes of such wanderers as nomatic tramps and thieves. Technology has definitely broadening our perspective on choices and their implications of people who live on and in the company of the lands and cultures that make roads desirable.

Being digitally connected and interactive makes me feel good about being a gypsy of this day and age.

Like a growing number of others, I can be a SUVpacker who is mobile and nomatic because the choice of working and living on the move is inspiring. While past gypsy professions were thought of this way because they required or allowed for seasonal demands, the menu of choices and implications is much broader now — and it can be even more appealing as greater numbers of places and businesses realize that there is nothing wrong with adding driving to their traveling lifestyle. Many professionals use the Internet and communication tools to work or create, and they know their outputs are broadened by the fact that they constantly see a much larger world than the inside of an office or home.

We’re writing about the excitement and many elements of this kind of living on http://SUVpacking. We’ve already noted how Honda and Mazda have put together commercials to appeal to this crowd. SUV buyers, after all, tend to be well off financially and adventurous in what they do and what they buy.

It could also be exactly this kind of crowd that companies like the makers of the app http://www.HotelsTonight.com. There is value in spontaneity and the ability to drive, park, camp or sleep wherever works for you.

Me, a real gypsy! Pretty cool actually now that technology has finally caught up with a wild and exciting lifestyle.
